LEGO TrainsI'm not interested in trains as such but LEGO trains opens up a whole different world to build. It started, in 1996, when I bought 4564 "Freight Express" for half price. I quickly added some extra track and 4537 "Octan Twin Tank Rail Tanker ", and also built my first train MOC's, "engine1" being the only one I'm still happy to display.
Things were fairlly dormant for a few years untill I attended the "South Coast Lego Fest", SCLF, and at the same time LEGO released the first M-O-T sets. Filled with enthusiasm I built my own version of a M-O-T engine, "loco1". I then bought a small engine with tender and also 3225 "Classic Train" from Busy Bee, 3225 was a great way to get a train motor and a selection of train related parts, wheels, couplers etc. I managed to make a brief visit to "Thames Valley Lego Fest 2001", TVLF 2001, with a few MOC's and this also rekindled my enthusiasm leading to a major order, for me, from LEGO shop-at-home adding a large engine and tender plus a selection of train wagons, parts, and a Metroliner kit. Since then I've made a few wagon MOC's and my first large building, a Victorian water tank. I have built a number of train MOC's listed below:
